Are Balloon Mollies suppost to swim at the bottom of the tank?

lilthinkergirl asked:

I have three Balloon Mollies and they seem to like to swim around the bottom. Im worried because they use to swim up top and the newest one did swim up top but stopped when she realized the other two were at the bottom. I tested the water for the pH balance but the strip was hard to read. It was orange then in more light it was a dark pink then it dried right between. >.< Can anyone tell me what's going on and if my fish are sick?????

Thats not unusual. They are probably getting ready to give birth to some babies. Balloon Mollies give birth a lot.

balloon mollies are top to middle tank swimmers, have you got a working heater in your tank.often fish that stay at the bottom of the tank do so because its cold.
test your nitrite and ammonia with a test kit to be sure its not a nitrite or ammonia problem first

Mine like to hang out in the plants near the bottom. They don’t swim as well as the other fish so I wonder if they do it to be out of the way of the faster fish.
