Blood Transfusions

Recently The American Red Cross has been cited for a mess of violations of Fed blood safety rules … AGAIN. That was the start of one of our newsletters almost 4 years back and it’s true once more. This time a record .2 million buck fine was levied. That makes virtually 1,000,000 bucks in fines since 2003 for the Red Cross not following imperative guiding principles. A statement from the organization noted that it can take this “seriously and has commitment to full acceptance of the modified consent decree and all proper Fed regulations. ” Yet about 4 years back the internet site of the Red Cross mentioned ” Making sure a safe blood supply is the top emphasis of the North American Red Cross.

” That notice was nearly ten years after a Fed. court order requiring enhancements hadn’t been met. It’s been more than twenty years the American Red Cross hasn’t been meeting imperative safety suggestions while the cost of a pint of blood rises to loads of bucks per pint. Cash , money, money! A Red Cross speaker claimed income from the sale of blood products will be used to pay the fine instead of using donated cash. Yet the blood products sold are from blood donated for free so the fine is being paid for with funds from donations. What to do? Almost twenty years back a Regional Director for The Red Cross in southern California came to my office to ask after my services as a writer. Her job was to persuade people to be blood donors. I grinned and told her she could never convince me to give blood. She grinned back and announced, “Oh, you are a Jehovah’s Witness. ” Members of that cult don’t believe strongly in blood transfusions for spiritual reasons. I told her that I wasn’t a Jehovah’s Witness and that my reasons were science based. I started to let her know about liquid chlorophyll that is from plants and is sometimes available. I explained that many studies from decades before showed clearly that liquid chlorophyll was virtually matching to human blood in its molecular structure. The Red Cross director interrupted me at this point, “Oh, we all know all about chlorophyll. ” Blood money! I was shocked. The Red Cross is in the blood business.
