The Importance of Testing Your Body’s PH

Diet fads come and go but few are based in science nor are they the product of years of research. Anyone who has followed these diets knows that there are few that have an affect, few that are easy to follow and very few that make them feel good.

After years of blood research, nutritional microbiologists have begun to encourage a diet that balances your body’s PH. These researchers claim that a poor diet results in acidic waste being distributed throughout your body that is responsible for certain ailments including but not limited to low energy, acne, insomnia and even cancer.

These researchers therefore recommend that we balance our diet with foods that will maintain a proper PH and that we continually check our body’s PH with ph test strips.

In order to do so you must order test strips and wait two hours after you have eaten. You are then to fill your mouth with saliva and then swallow it a few times until you are certain that your mouth is clean. Once it appears to be clean (after you have filled it with saliva and swallowed three times) you should put some of your saliva on a test strip.

The PH test strip should turn blue which means your saliva is slightly alkaline and that you have a healthy PH. If the strip turns red then compare the color with the chart that will come with the test strips. If your PH is below a seven then you should wait two more hours and repeat the above steps.

Researchers have found that your saliva become more acidic (and the test paper more red) with age and infirmity. Cancer patients usually have very acidic saliva. In fact, virtually all people with degenerative diseases have acidic saliva.

Whatever your ph test strip revealed, you can continue using them to help navigate to a healthier and more balanced diet. You should avoid overly acidic foods including meat, fish and soft drinks and eat more alkaline diets such as leafy greens, broccoli and spinach. You can also consume alkaline minerals with your water that can help maintain a good PH balance.

Other researchers believe that emotions can strongly affect the acid levels in your body. These researchers opine that positive thoughts and relaxation techniques (including meditation) will help raise your PH and combat high acidity levels. This is especially important for those that live stressful lifestyles.
